TIPS AND TRICKS TO CRACK AIPMT-2011

The All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is a yearly college entrance examination in India. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in several medical colleges around the country.
AIPMT will have two Objectives round this year. Here we are placing few tips and tricks which will help you in cracking AIPMT 2010.
Important chapters
Here is the list of Most Important chapters that you must learn by heart!

PHYSICS:
Heat and thermodynamics (graphical), SHM and Waves, Kirchhoff’s Laws, Magnetic effect & Electromagnetic induction. It is always preferable to go for modern physics as lots of questions are asked from this unit. Concept of Projectile, Impulse, Momentum & centre of Mass are also a few important chapters in Mechanics.
CHEMISTRY:
  • Organic Chemistry – General organic chemistry, biochemistry.
  • Physical Chemistry – Chemical & ionic equilibrium, kinetics energetic, radio, nuclear and surface chemistry.
  • Inorganic Chemistry – Analytical chemistry, redox, stochiometry, periodic properties, chemical bonding and organo metallic compounds.
BIOLOGY:
  • Cell Biology – Structure, organization, function of reproduction of cells, cellular enzymes.
  • Plant and Animal Physiology – Plant water relations, photosynthesis, plant nutrition, respiration, nutrition, circulation, respiration & osmo-regulation in animals, nervous coordination and integration in animals, chemical co- ordination.
  • Economic Zoology – Domestication and improvement of animals.
  • These biology chapters help you solve tricky and simple questions: Systematic, genetics, morphology of flowering plants, internal structure of angiosperm in plants, animal tissues, and reproduction of flowering plants, ecosystem, biodiversity, human diseases and technology for medical application, bio-energy and growth of human population.
Time management
1. Align your biological clock by practicing mock tests within the stimulated time for PMT. Remember: practice makes perfect!
2. While answering your exam, go for the direct questions i.e. the questions, which are directly based on the topic, first.
3. Tackle all questions you are sure of answering, correctly. Guessing will not help due to negative marking. For each incorrect response, one third of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted.
However, no deduction from the total score will be made if no response is indicated in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.

CAN'T CONCENTRATE ON STUDIES

Imagine this situation …
while studying you are not able to concentrate...Your mind starts wandering of everything except studies...Whatever you read everything bounces of your mind.
This problem is with everyone. If you haven’t faced the above situation you will surely face it.
Here I provide the best technique which will help you to concentrate on studies.
I applied the following trick on myself and many others have tried it. The response is always positive
If you guys have problem with movies, games, ...Etc and you just cannot control yourself then …
For a week just control yourself. Just for a week make up your mind and be rock rigid that you will not watch TV or play computer games and study 12 hours or more just for 1 week.
And if you can do it honestly and study for 12 hours a day without watching TV and others distractive things then believe me, from the 8th day onwards all your problems will be solved.
From the 8th day when you will sit to watch TV and you are not studying than you will feel the guilt and you will be automatically forced to study.
Try it out guys…Just for 1 week...if it works again like every time don’t forget to inform me

LOSS IN SELF CONFIDENCE

This is a common problem faced by many students who are seriously into studies.
If you are lacking on confidence then it’s sometimes very tough to prepare for exams like AIIMS,AIPMT etc as confidence plays a major role in clearing these exams.

Stop Looking at Others:
So here I jot down some of the ways to increase your confidence.

First of all stop looking at your friends, what they are doing. Until and unless you are not aiming for AIR 1 you should not worry if someone is performing better than you. After all you have to capture only one seat not all.

How to Gain Confidence?
To gain confidence first you have to learn all formulae’s and understand the basic concepts .Then start with understanding solved examples. This will help you to get an insight as well as lot of confidence.
Don't Waste Your Precious Time:
Once again stop looking at others .This is a major mistake done by others. Most of the students spend lot of their precious time thinking about what others are doing. How much they have completed. blah blah.....Don’t do that please.
If you have any problems regarding your confidence you can post in the comment box. I will try to solve it.

Believe in yourself ... You can do it...

Best of luck.......................................................               M.RAVI TEJA, LECTURER IN BOTANY
